Aleem Manji, a beloved radio host for East FM Kenya, passed away on November 12, 2023, at the age of 45. Manji had been with the station for over 15 years, and his infectious energy and warm personality made him a favorite among listeners.
“We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our dear friend and colleague Aleem Manji,” said Radio Africa Group Head of Human Resources, “Aleem was a true inspiration to us all. His talent, his humor, and his passion for radio were unmatched. He will be deeply missed.”
Manji was a versatile broadcaster, hosting a variety of shows, including the breakfast show “The Big Breakfast,” the weekend show “The Weekend Rewind,” and the sports show “The Sports Hour.” He was also a regular contributor to East FM’s online platforms.
“Aleem was a true radio pioneer,” said Radio Africa Group CEO, “He was one of the first DJs to bring a fresh and innovative style to Kenyan radio. He was a trailblazer, and he will be remembered as one of the best radio hosts of all time.”
Manji is survived by his wife, Seema, and two children.
